SCOTT, Miss., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta and Pine Land Company (NYSE:DLP) ("D&PL") today announced it will release its operating results for its first quarter ended November 30, 2005, on Friday, January 6, 2006, before the market opens. The Company had previously stated it would release its results on Wednesday, January 4, 2006. The rescheduling is necessary in order for D&PL to comply with new accounting interpretations received on December 28, 2005 related to the initial adoption of Financial Accounting Standards Board Statement No. 123 (Revised 2004), "Share-Based Payment". The financial impact of the new accounting guidance is not expected to have a material effect on the Company's financial results. D&PL will conduct a conference call at 10:00 a.m. central time (11:00 a.m. eastern time) the same day to discuss the results.
