DCP Midstream: Dividend Reduction To Pay Debt

Debt reduction is the priority.

Covenant violation is not an issue.

The recovery of the distribution from the 50% reduction is an excellent probability.

The deferral of growth projects, combined with cost reductions, enhances cash flow available to pay down debt.

The partnership has an excellent location in some low-cost basins.

If I smoked I would be puffing on a cigar right now.

News of Saudi and Russia meeting and overall investor attitudes toward the overall market improving appears to be moving this stock up.

With more Saudi dumping of oil to come and the newness of the stimulus package wearing off and the growing of infection cases of the virus in the US continuing, the price of this stock likely will go even lower in the future. Watching for buying opportunity in the 2 dollar or even in the 1 dollar price range. Bargainville to the ninth degree.

I did not say dividends would not go down. I just said the amount of the dividends is not determined based on stock price. Oil will recover.....it always does. Now my investment in this stock will only pay 33% return on my money a year in dividends a year not 70%. How can I ever live with that? Good luck in all your investments. Make bank!

DCP Midstream to cut 2020 capex by 75%, slashes dividend

DCP Midstream (NYSE:DCP) cuts its 2020 growth capital program by 75% to $150M, down from its previous guidance midpoint of $600M, and chops its quarterly distribution in half to $0.39/unit from $0.78/unit, in response to "extraordinary and volatile market conditions."

In case you haven't notice DCP has been reporting loses from those operations. There is no way they will continue to pay out .78

When stocks fall 70-80% they cut or shut down the dividend stream. Oils will remain dead as inventories overflow from the global shutdown.

And our long term growth projects the Keathley Canyon connector was placed into service in the DJ Basin, we're near on completion on the Lucerne 2 Plant and we began construction on the Grand Parkway gathering project and the Panola pipeline expansion project is on the way in East Texas."
