Barclays hires Stephen Stewart as Head of M&A Execution for Canada

With over 15 years of Investment Banking
experience, Mr. Stewart brings to Barclays deep client
relationships and industry knowledge that will further strengthen
the Canada platform and extensively complement the broader Americas
and Global M&A businesses
Barclays today announces the hire of Stephen Stewart as Head of
M&A Execution for Canada. Mr. Stewart is based in Toronto, and
dually reports to Ryan Voegeli, Head of Investment Banking for
Canada, and Dan Grabos, Head of Americas M&A. Mr. Stewart is
responsible for the leadership of the Canadian M&A Investment
Banking business.
Mr. Stewart has over 15 years of investment banking experience,
and joined Barclays from TD Securities, where most recently he was
a Managing Director, M&A. He joined TD Securities in 2008 and
throughout his career has played key roles in a vast number of
landmark transactions. These include advising the special committee
of Nuvei on the US$6.3bn take-private by Advent International,
advising the independent committee of Neighbourly Pharmacy on the
$1.2bn take-private by Persistence Capital Partners and advising
Dream Global REIT on its $6.2bn sale to Blackstone. He advised
Thomson Reuters on both the sale of a 55% majority stake in its
Financial & Risk business to Blackstone and the US$27bn sale of
Refinitiv to the London Stock Exchange. Mr. Stewart also advised
George Weston on the spin-out of Choice Properties from Loblaw and
Choice Properties on the $6bn acquisition of Canadian Real Estate
Investment Trust.
