AMERIGROUP Corporation is a multi-state managed healthcare company focused on serving people who receive healthcare benefits through publicly funded healthcare programs, including Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Medicaid expansion programs and Medicare Advantage. As of December 31, 2010, the Company provided a range of products to approximately 1,931,000 members in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Virginia and New Mexico. On March 1, 2010, the Company’s New Jersey health plan acquired the Medicaid contract rights and rights under certain provider agreements of University Health Plans, Inc. (UHP). On February 1, 2011 the Company began providing managed healthcare services to STAR+PLUS members under an expansion contract in the six-county service area surrounding Forth Worth, Texas.
