So now POTUS is starting negotiations over REE's from Russia. So, please add that addtl resource to JS's email.

I still think Elk Creek "needs" to be developed because REE"s from Ukraine or Russia are always at risk of supply disruption. I hope POTUS and EXIM take that in to consideration.

As an aside, I wouldn't be shocked if Zelensky overstated the realistic value knowing it would involve long-term deep-pocket investment in his war torn country, which was already one of the poorest in Europe, and will need significant rebuilding, as he was the one who first floated the idea (that he's now balking at).

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c20le8jn282o
Zelensky first included the offer of an agreement on minerals in the so-called "victory plan" that he presented to Trump last September.

Thanks, Richard. Just sharing what I find out there in the public space. While the headline was likely clickbait for anti-Trumpers, I thought they did a fairly good job of balancing that out stating, yeah, there are REMs there, they're just hard to get to and will require significant investment. They also had a link to another article that went more in depth and identifies resources in Ukraine, but interestingly doesn't mention niobium, scandium, neodymium or praseodymium.

https://www.intellinews.com/what-does-ukraine-have-to-offer-the-deal-loving-trump-to-get-his-support-353512/
Ukraine is home to the largest reserves of uranium in Europe; the second-largest reserves of iron ore, titanium and manganese; and the third largest reserves of shale gas, the Washington Post reported. It also has large deposits of the hard-to-find lithium, graphite and other rare earth metals, according to a 2022 report by the Canadian geopolitical risk-analysis firm SecDev.
And then there's this:

https://meta.eeb.org/2022/07/27/a-materials-war-ukraine-and-the-race-for-resources/
A part of the 3 to 11.5 trillion dollars worth of resources in Ukraine is now under Russian boots. This includes elements such as tantalum and niobium that are used for green(er) technologies as well as aviation, transportation and construction. As the amounts of elements like tantalum and niobium are state secrets, it is hard to estimate how much of it is now in Russian hands, but these materials are found in Donetsk and south of Zaporizhzhia, which are occupied by Putin’s invading army.
A lot of moving parts here.

Can someone who has a good working relationship with Jim S. (he doesn't answer me anymore.... crickets..... )
Ask Jim:
- What NB's stance is regarding the Ukraine critical mineral deal - and how it might affect NB's plight.....
- What does the replacement of EXIM top management mean for NB's application? i.e., speedier phase 2 approvals possibly? is it viewed by NB management as an encouraging development in the uber-slow EXIM approval process?
- How far are we from possibly getting financing for the FS publishing piece?

We should be able to get responses from Jim Simms, that is his job as IR Director, h'e making $350K to deal with shareholders, not sure if or what else they are doing on a daily basis back in Centennial- while waiting for the EXIM phase approvals and FINANCING!?

Please have Jim weigh in on these questions- It's his job!!

Ukraine is indeed rich in rare earth minerals,which are essential for modern technology and various industries. According to research, Ukraine has significant deposits of rare earth elements (REEs) such as lanthanum, cerium, neodymium, erbium, and yttrium12. These elements are used in various applications, including TVs, lighting, wind turbines, electric vehicle batteries, nuclear power, and lasers12.

Additionally, Ukraine has reserves of other critical minerals like lithium, cobalt, scandium, graphite, tantalum, and niobium1. These minerals are crucial for the production of devices for green energy and other advanced technologies1.

The presence of these minerals has been well-documented and proven through various studies and reports. Ukraine's reserves of these critical minerals account for approximately 5% of the world's total reserves.

Above is from Copilot Ai on bing.
Copilot also had several links, some research is needed if you're interested.

Ukraine doesn't have any rare earth metals, and the strategic minerals it does have are not worth trillions of dollars

https://www.intellinews.com/ukraine-doesn-t-have-any-rare-earth-metals-and-the-strategic-minerals-it-does-have-are-not-worth-trillions-of-dollars-368472/
There is currently a lot of confusion over US President Donald Trump’s proposed $500bn deal to gain control over Ukraine’s rare earth metals wealth. The problem is that Ukraine doesn’t have any rare earth minerals; it has a lot of “strategically important metals” like lithium. That is true. But actual rare earth metals? No. Almost none.

At the danger of nitpicking, rare earth metals (REMs) are a group of 17 elements in the periodic table, consisting of the 15 lanthanides (including neodymium, dysprosium, terbium, scandium and yttrium), which are very useful, as they enable the production of sophisticated electronics thanks to the conductivity quirks of their chemical bonds when used in combination with more traditional materials.
A deep dive by Bloomberg Opinion columnist Javier Blas, released on February 19, went into the distinction between the two and undermined Trump’s assumption that Ukraine holds trillion of dollars of valuable minerals.

“What Ukraine has is scorched earth; what it doesn’t have is rare earths. Surprisingly, many people – not least, US President Donald Trump – seem convinced the country has a rich mineral endowment. It’s a folly,” Blas wrote.
There is even a question mark over the economic viability of mining what rare earth metals Ukraine has. One of the few confirmed REM deposits is at Novopoltavske (tantalum, niobium, strontium and magnetite), which was discovered by the Soviets in the 1970s, but even the government says it is “hard to extract” and has remained fallow since then.

You should dismiss every single post here. This is just a message board.

Besides that, titanium is easy to find. We have much bigger concerns than the 3rd product that was basically a no nevermind until the pricing of the headline products suddenly became a risk. Niocorp not Titcorp. I hope titanium does not become a crutch. Remember when the mine would break even on niobium alone? PFFFFFT. You weren't here yet.

Therefore I started dismissing past posts which do not give NB proper chance to success.

Note: Titanium has many other applications on military hardwares.

Probably will not hear much about the cyber incident. They disclosed it and that's the end of it. Exim moved a little bit into some more waiting and analysis, and we are still broke except for some dilutive can kicking. The cyber incident is the very least of our worries. Unfortunately, I see the cyber incident as another excuse later if they need one.

Bigger question, does RPMGLobal need the FS to complete their independent review? One would think that would be pretty important documentation to have during that process. I'm sure "they do not" until quietly "they do". Can that be funded yet and by who?

Again, as usual, we seem to be the Rodney Dangerfield of the mining industry....as 'We get no respect'... probably due to the way Molycorp was walked away from during Bankruptcy 10+ yrs. ago and the NB shareholders might be paying for that.... without even knowing about the history on that one.....
Still 'Radio Silence' from the IR office...... as usual, NB shareholders are left to wonder and reset the '9 month clock' after the last PR regarding changing out upper level mgmt. at EXIM a few weeks ago...... how will that affect NB? How will the possible Ukraine elements affect NB's future? where are we at with the changing landscape???

Sure would be nice to know if any other work is going on in advance of getting financing for the FS publishing phase of the project...... or does the clock 'restart once they drop some financing on us... and then NB still needs to start from scratch on the DD and extra drilling?? or is the extra drilling requirement off the table now with new EXIM Executive Mgmt....??? why are we always in the dark? it's like we are in the bottom of the mine shaft with no lights on and wondering when the next RaiVeyor car is going to come by??? mushroom land...... Let's go Mr. Simms, give us some updates, is anybody doing anything back at Centennial Hdqtrs.? or just watching Jerry Springer reruns during each day and waiting for the financing to get ENGAGED!!???

ARGH.......

Mining for Defense: Unlocking the Potential for U.S.-Canada Collaboration on Critical Minerals
Published February 18, 2025

https://www.csis.org/analysis/mining-defense

In-depth brief talks about niobium at length. rare earths, scandium, neodymium, praseodymium, mining, processing, refining, recycling, problems with financing small projects, etc. etc.
While this mostly focuses on projects in Canada, and and even mentions a couple of projects still in exploration (Aley Project, Mactung Project), it does mention the Jervois cobalt mine in Idaho and the TempiuteTungsten Mine and Mill in Nevada, but no mention of Nebraska or NioCorp despite niobium being mentioned 22 times.

Sounds like a great plan! Unfortunately, the project is currently an open field and the money keeps blowing by.

https://www.defense.gov/News/News-Stories/Article/Article/3700059/dod-looks-to-establish-mine-to-magnet-supply-chain-for-rare-earth-materials/
Since 2020, DOD has awarded more than $439 million to establish domestic rare earth element supply chains. This includes separating and refining rare earth elements mined in the U.S., as well as developing downstream stateside processes needed to convert those refined materials into metals and then magnets.
https://www.energy.gov/fecm/articles/doe-invests-over-32-million-increase-efficiency-us-critical-minerals-production
With the selections announced today, FECM has committed an estimated $254 million since January 2021 for projects that support critical minerals and materials exploration, resource identification, production, and processing in traditional mining and fossil fuel-producing communities across the country. ?

https://3dprint.com/316398/iperionx-lands-47-1m-from-dod-for-titanium-3d-printing-powders/
IperionX, the Charlotte-based supplier of critical mineral powders used for additive manufacturing (AM), has been awarded a $47.1 million contract from the US Department of Defense (DoD) in a competitive bid to provide titanium to the US defense industrial base (DIB). Over a two-year period, the DoD and IperionX will fund a two-phase development program with up to $70.7 million, with IperionX providing the remainder of the investment.

In Phase 1 of the project, the US government will contribute $5 million, while the company will provide $1 million, to perform feasibility studies related to IperionX’s Titan Project, a critical minerals operation in west Tennessee. As of August, 2023, IperionX has received all necessary permits to move forward with the Titan Project, which the company claims is “the largest JORC-compliant resource of titanium and rare earth rich mineral sands in the U.S.”

My interest of investing on NB / NIOBM. Increased a lot ever since I read an article from China about niobium silicon metals which were very much related to their lab tests on space ship.

The metal is light and can resist very high temperatures. It is rumored that China has innovations on super hypersonic unmanned alrplsne or advanced missiles normal radar can’t find.

Niobium is going to be expensive commodity soon.

I have had in the past multiple meetings with Mark,Jim, and Peter. Also met the whole management team at a private dinner 8 years ago. Seems like yesterday. Lot of enthusiasm for the project but things turned sour when no debt partner appeared after we were assured of multiple tension. GX coming into the picture was the final straw for some of us. Niocorp dropped the ball major league and a lot of investors got taken to the cleaners.

If I decide to get back into the stock, it will be for a trade only. Niocorp gave out hints they would be in production close to a decade ago. I have no idea who they were listening to. Big swing and a miss.

Not arguing with you, but they are well within the existing regulation for timing of the meeting. Hard to argue with that.

I looked back at previous inauguration years and seems that EXIM board meetings continued even after the change of administration, so watching for activity. Last meeting was 1/8.

I’m not thrilled with the pace here either, but start-ups dilute. It’s what they do. 2025 has all the planets trying to align. Go to the meeting and ask questions.

Niobium Wire Market Size and Growth Forecast by Application, Type, and Region 2025-2032
02-20-2025

https://www.openpr.com/news/3878077/niobium-wire-market-size-and-growth-forecast-by-application
USA, New Jersey- According to Market Research Intellect, the global Niobium Wire market in the Internet, Communication and Technology category is projected to witness significant growth from 2025 to 2032. Market dynamics, technological advancements, and evolving consumer demand are expected to drive expansion during this period.
The growing use of niobium wire across several sectors-including aerospace, medical, and electronics-drives the market largely. Aerospace components and high-temperature applications find it perfect because of its great strength, light weight, and strong oxidation resistance. Another major influence is the medical field since niobium's biocompatibility qualifies for surgical tools and implants. Furthermore generating interest in high-purity niobium wire are the growing need for superconducting materials, especially in MRI machines, particle accelerators, and quantum computers. The conductivity and corrosion resistance of niobium promote applications in capacitors and semiconductor components, therefore benefiting the electronics sector as well. Increasing investments in materials science and modern production help to drive creativity in goods derived from niobium. Driven by technical developments and industrial demand, the niobium wire market is likely to keep growing as durable, high-performance materials for important uses take front stage.
