DELL Dell Inc. (MM)

BMC Software Inc. (BMC) has drawn acquisition interest from KKR & Co. (KKR), TPG Capital and Bain Capital LLC, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing people with knowledge of the situation.

One person told Bloomberg that BMC approached several potential corporate buyers including Oracle Corp. (ORCL), Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) and Dell Inc. (DELL), and said those companies are unlikely to pursue BMC.

The Wall Street Journal reported Oct. 1 that BMC was reaching out to potential suitors including software companies and private equity firms.
