Since its founding in 1972, Astec Industries has grown from a local manufacturer of asphalt mixing plants and equipment into a family of 19 subsidiaries located across the United States and abroad. These 19 companies manufacture a wide variety of specialized equipment for building and restoring the world's infrastructure as well as equipment for the mining and energy markets.  The Company's operations are divided into four primary business segments:  aggregate processing and mining equipment; asphalt production equipment; mobile asphalt paving equipment; and underground boring, directional drilling and trenching equipment. Astec Industries also owns a subsidiary that manufactures equipment used for wood processing and recycling and an equipment dealership located in Australia.
