                                  AGM Statement


At the Annual General Meeting of Victrex plc to be held today, Chairman Peter
Warry will make the following statement:

"The increased sales levels noted in our preliminary announcement have been
sustained. If current rates continued, we would achieve sales volume for the six
months to 31 March 2003 of around 700 tonnes, compared with 557 and 648 tonnes,
respectively, for the first and second halves of last year.

While the current economic climate is uncertain, we remain confident in the
underlying robustness and growth potential of our business.  Accordingly, we are
increasing investment in sales and marketing and product research and
development.  Particular areas of focus are Asia-Pacific, where we see
significant growth potential, increased globalisation of our sales channels and
faster development of new products and applications."

The Company's interim trading update for the six months to 31 March 2003 will be
issued on Wednesday 2 April 2003.
