Merck & Co. (MRK) Chief Executive Richard Clark says the company will publish details of its payments to doctors, amid charges that pharmaceutical companies have too much influence over doctors' prescription decisions, The Financial Times reports Wednesday. The disclosures, to start in the fourth quarter, will make Merck the largest pharmaceutical to publish such information, according to the FT. "The system needs to be transparent," Clark told the paper. Clark also said he sees no need for an annual cap on payments to doctors.
