China Mobile Ltd. (CHL) launched an online application platform Monday that offers music, games, videos, and other entertainment applications for download to mobile phones.

The open platform - an online store called Mobile Market - links handset vendors and applications developers to China Mobile's users, the company said.

Mobile Market currently supports 10 handset models including Nokia Corp. (NOK), Samsung Electronics Co. (005930.SE) and LG Electronics Inc. (066570.SE) brands, the company said.

China Mobile, the world's largest mobile operator by subscribers, has been promoting its newly launched third-generation mobile services by offering better value-added services and more handset models.
