Roll-out to product development and purchase departments to follow
next year DEN BOSCH, Netherlands, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Fashion chain WE Netherlands, a subsidiary of WE International, is
set to benefit from using the Geac RunTime software DesignTime and
QuestPDM at its styling department. The modules, which have been
especially designed for the apparel and footwear industry, enable
WE to standardize work processes, resulting in an increased
efficiency and a shorter time-to-market. WE will start using twenty
DesignTime and QuestPDM systems at the styling department. Next
year, the roll-out of another 35 QuestPDM systems to the product
development and purchase departments will follow. With QuestPDM, WE
has access to one single source of design data, such as information
on fabrics, colors, measures, purchase prices, article numbers and
fashion themes. DesignTime offers WE modules for creative and
technical design. An example of these is StyleTime, which includes
an extended library of detailed information on materials and prints
and design properties like stitches and seams. Another module is
ColorTime, enabling stylists to define colors and guarantee the use
of consistent colors throughout their designs. The standard
templates in DesignTime enable stylists to easily exchange designs
and take over each other's assignments. "QuestPDM perfectly fits
our requirements internally, but also now we are about to open a
new sourcing facility in Hong Kong," says Roel Brand, IT Director
at WE. "Using QuestPDM, employees in Hong Kong too will have access
to the Dutch office's design data. This makes it much easier to
start the production of new collections, leading to increased
efficiency and considerable time savings. QuestPDM is an advanced
system including all the information we need. It ensures that data
we use is always up-to-date; once a change has been entered, it is
processed in all designs." About Geac Geac (TSX: GAC and NASDAQ:
