Zambezi Nickel Limited (AIM Code: ZNI) today announces the appointment of Dr
Mike Donaldson as Group Chief Geologist of the Company with immediate effect.


Dr  Donaldson has over 30 years experience in the resources industry,
principally in exploration for nickel, gold, base metals and diamonds.  He holds
a PhD in geology from the University of Western Australia (1984) based on
pioneering studies of nickel-bearing ultramafic rocks in Western Australia.


He has extensive experience with both small and large-sized companies throughout
Australia, Africa, Scandinavia, Finland, Russia and Asia as well as in the
government sector in Western Australia. His African experience includes
management of gold and diamond exploration in Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso,
Botswana, Namibia, Angola and South Africa.


Dr Donaldson's background includes positions of General Manager Exploration at
Ashton Mining Ltd, Sons of Gwalia Ltd and Coolgardie Gold NL as well as 16 years
in exploration and research with Western Mining Corporation Ltd. Prior to his
appointment to Zambezi Nickel, Dr Donaldson was General Manager of the Regional
Mapping Branch of the Geological Survey of Western Australia,  a Division of the
Western Australian Department of Industry and Resources. His responsibilities
included management of regional geological mapping programs, geochronology,
aerial geophysical surveys, and map and report publication, managing a team of
70 staff.
