                             EUK/TESCO ANNOUNCEMENT




Woolworths Group plc announces that its Entertainment Wholesale subsidiary,
Entertainment UK Limited, has agreed new terms with Tesco for the ongoing supply
of entertainment products to Tesco's UK stores. Under the new contract EUK will
continue to act as Tesco's major supplier of CDs, Video (DVD and VHS) and
computer games for an initial period to the end of February 2007.

The parties have also committed to working together in a more collaborative way
to improve the efficiency of the entertainment supply chain for the benefit of
both parties and Tesco's customers. Agreement to undertake any identified
improvements is a condition of the new contract continuing for the duration of
the initial period. Early exit could not, however occur before August 2005.
