Statement re Competition Commission



Woolworths Group plc notes today's publication by the Competition Commission of
its provisional findings with respect to the completed acquisition of Bertram
Group Limited.



The Company is pleased that the transaction has been provisionally cleared and
will continue to work closely with the Commission through to its final decision
which is due by no later than 17 September 2007.
