  SUSPENSION OF LISTING AND TRADING

  Smaller Companies Value Trust PLC (the "Company") announces that, as set out in the circular (the "Circular") to shareholders published on 1 April 2009, the Company's income shares of 1 pence each, capital shares of 1 pence each and package units were suspended from listing on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and from trading on the London Stock Exchange at 7.30 a.m. this morning, 30 April 2009. It is expected that listing of those shares on the Official List of the UKLA will be cancelled no later than 8.00 a.m. on 1 May 2009.
