    California-based natural gas supplier places $700,000 order for gas
    purification system
  
    VANCOUVER, Oct. 8 /CNW/ - QuestAir Technologies Inc. ("QuestAir";
AIM: QAR; TSX: QAR) announced today that it will supply an M-3100 pressure
swing adsorption ("PSA") system to Venoco, Inc. ("Venoco"), one of the largest
independent oil and natural gas companies in California, in order to meet
strict quality specifications for natural gas in California. The order is
valued at approximately $700,000.
    QuestAir's M-3100 PSA system will increase the quality of "associated
gas" produced on Venoco's Platform Gail, located approximately 10 miles
offshore of Ventura, California. QuestAir's M-3100 will separate carbon
dioxide, water, ethane, propane and heavier hydrocarbons from associated gas
to meet the strict quality specifications of Venoco's gas customer, Southern
California Gas Company ("SoCal Gas").
    "This will be the first application of QuestAir's M-3100 for gas
processing on an offshore platform, and follows successful demonstration tests
that we completed on Platform Gail and at Venoco's on-shore facilities," said
Andrew Hall, QuestAir's President and CEO.
    "The California Air Resources Board specification for natural gas has
created challenges for producers such as Venoco in bringing sub-quality
sources of natural gas to market. QuestAir's M-3100 offers gas producers a
cost-effective solution to separate hydrocarbons and other constituents
present in associated gas and other sub-quality gas sources, in order to meet
these demanding specifications," Hall said. "In addition, the compact size of
QuestAir's system offers distinct advantages for installation on an offshore
platform where space is at a premium."
    SoCal Gas is the largest natural gas distribution utility in the US,
providing safe and reliable energy to 20.3 million consumers through
5.7 million meters in more than 500 communities.

    QuestAir's M-3100 purifies methane-containing gas streams to high purity
methane, removing contaminants such as CO2 and C2+ hydrocarbons. QuestAir's
PSA process and proprietary rotary valve technology deliver higher efficiency
than conventional PSA systems in a more compact, cost-effective package.
QuestAir's M-3100 system can upgrade up to 9 million cubic feet of feed gas
per day.
