West Malling, UK, 4 October 2007: Phoqus Pharmaceuticals plc (AIM: PQS)
("Phoqus" or the "Company"), the drug development company, announces that on 2
October 2007 the following directors exercised options over the number Phoqus
shares set out below at an exercise price of 0.01 pence per ordinary share:

These share options were originally granted on 3 November 2005. Following the
exercise of these share options, the directors have a total holding (including
those held by a trust in which the director has an interest) in the Company
amounting to:

As previously announced, the share options granted on 3 November 2005 were to be
satisfied by the transfer of ordinary shares held by certain institutional
shareholders. In order to facilitate the transfer of shares to option-holders,
some of the institutional shareholders have transferred shares to Dr Peter
Johnson, Chief Financial Officer, to hold the shares as their nominee pending
exercise of the share options by the option-holders. Accordingly, following the
exercise of the above share options, together with share options exercised by
other option-holders, Dr Johnson transferred 304,666 shares to the exercising
shareholders in the usual way on 3 October 2007.

Two additional institutional shareholders yesterday transferred a total of
11,281 shares to Peter Johnson as nominee in respect of the 3 November 2005
share options. Following the above transfers, 282,146 shares are now held by Dr
Johnson as nominee, representing 0.64 per cent of the issued share capital of
the Company.
