PURCHASE OF OWN SECURITIES

Phoenix VCT plc announces that on 20 March 2006 the Company purchased for
cancellation 3,060 Ordinary Shares of 10p each at a price of 95p per share and
that on 29 March 2006 the Company purchased for cancellation 176,410 Ordinary
Shares of 10p each at a price of 97p per share.

The issued share capital of the Company is now 10,860,023 Ordinary Shares and
5,143,188 C Shares.
