The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry has decided, on the information
at present before him, and in accordance with the recommendation of the
Director General of Fair Trading, not to refer the following mergers to the
Competition Commission under the provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1973:

COMPLETED ACQUISITION BY ALGEA (UK) LIMITED OF MAXICROP INTERNATIONAL LIMITED.

PROPOSED ACQUISITION BY NRG ENERGY INC OF ASSETS OF NITROGEN LIMITED, A WHOLLY
OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF NATIONAL POWER PLC, NAMELY KILLINGHOLME POWER STATION.
