We have received notification today from Caledonia Financial Limited and on
behalf of Caledonia Investments plc, the holding company, and The Cayzer Trust
Company Limited, a substantial shareholder in Caledonia Investments plc, that
they are interested in 3,870,000 Ordinary Shares of 40p each in London
Forfaiting Company PLC, representing 3.69% of the issued ordinary share capital.

The shares are registered in the name of Caledonia Financial Limited.

Disclosure of Interest in Shares

In accordance with the provisions of Sections 198 and 202 of The Companies Act
1985, as amended, I hereby give notice that, following the sale of 500,000
ordinary shares on the 7th February 2001, Caledonia Financial Limited has a
beneficial holding of 3,870,000 ordinary shares in London Forfaiting Company
PLC, representing 3.69% of the total issued ordinary share capital.

All of the shares are registered in the name of Caledonia Financial Limited.

By virtue of the provisions of section 203 of the Companies Act 1985, Caledonia
Investments plc, of which Caledonia Financial Limited is a wholly-owned
subsidiary, and The Cayzer Trust Company Limited, a substantial shareholder in
Caledonia Investments plc, are deemed to be interested in the above mentioned
shares. We would be grateful therefore if you would accept this letter as
notification of the interests of these two companies on their behalf.
