                    Update on Disposal and Terms of Options


Further to the announcement made in November 2007, London Asia, the Asia focused
investment group, is pleased to provide an update on the sale of its holding in
Zhongying, its largest investment.

Whilst the sale is still progressing in line with the agreement reached with the
acquirers, the Company has faced a number of regulatory and other issues
relating to the sale, and as a result does not anticipate closing the sale in
the near future. At this point it is not possible to give a clear indication as
to when the sale is likely to complete and proceeds be received, although the
Board currently believes that it should be before the end of 2008.

The Company also announces changes relating to the terms of options issued in
March 2003.

In order to help reduce the dilution to net assets and earning per share which
would be caused by issuing new shares, the Board has approved a change to the
terms of the 10.7 million options issued in March 2003, due to expire on 17
March 2008 and exercisable at 5p per share, such that the expiry date has been
extended by one year to 17 March 2009.
