                    INCO LIMITED ANNOUNCES PARTICIPATION IN

                      OCTOBER 28, 2004 MEETING IN TORONTO

                WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INVESTMENT COMMUNITY


Toronto, October 22, 2004 -- Inco Limited ("Inco") announced today that it will
be making a presentation at a meeting in Toronto with representatives of the
investment community on October 28, 2004. While the presentation will not be
webcast, the text of the presentation to be made and slides to be used by Inco
as part of the presentation will be made available on Inco's website.

Peter C. Jones, Inco's President and Chief Operating Officer, will be making a
presentation on Inco's plans and strategies at a meeting hosted by TD Newcrest
scheduled to be held in Toronto on October 28, 2004. Mr. Jones is expected to
speak beginning at 1:00 p.m. (Toronto time) that day. Copies of the text of Mr.
Jones' presentation, as well as the slides he will be utilizing for the
presentation, will be available for on-line viewing and/or printing at
approximately the time his presentation is expected to begin through the "Latest
Presentations" link on Inco's website, www.inco.com.
