                  HERCULES DELISTS FROM LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE


WILMINGTON, DE, JULY 6, 2004 . . . Hercules Incorporated (NYSE: HPC) hereby
announces that it intends to cancel its secondary listing of ordinary shares on
the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and trading on the London Stock
Exchange's market for listed securities. The cancellation is due to the lack to
trading volume over an extended period of time. The primary listing for
Hercules' ordinary shares remains on the New York Stock Exchange. The last day
of trading in the shares on the London Stock Exchange will take place on 3
August 2004.
