Appointment of Michael Riding as Non-Executive Director

TUESDAY, 4 May 2004 -- Home Entertainment Corporation PLC ("HEC" or "the
Company") announces that Michael Riding has been appointed a Non-Executive
Director with effect from today.

Iain Muspratt, Chairman of HEC, said: "I am delighted that Michael is joining
us. His substantial and wide-ranging experience of judging the commercial
potential of developments and innovation in business, will be immensely valuable
to the board of HEC."

Mr. Riding, aged 60, is Managing Director, Corporate Banking, at Lloyds TSB Bank
plc where he has overall responsibility for middle market commercial, major
corporate and institutional banking business. He was Chairman of Lloyds TSB
Development Capital Limited until December 2003. Mr. Riding joined Lloyds Bank
in 1983 from Chemical Bank, New York, after 10 years in international commercial
banking. Soon after joining Lloyds Bank, he became General Manager responsible
for the bank's Asian operations and was appointed Head of UK Commercial Banking
in 1991.

A graduate of Leeds University, Mr. Riding is a Fellow of the Chartered
Institute of Bankers and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

As announced on 23 January 2004 and also with effect from today, John Malcolm
Sealey, aged 65, has stepped down as Finance Director to become a Non-Executive
Director and Company Secretary, with Christopher John White, aged 42, succeeding
Mr Sealey as Finance Director.
