APPOINTMENT OF A DIRECTOR


The Board of Foreign & Colonial Eurotrust PLC ("Eurotrust") announces the
appointment of Mr Michael Moule as a non-executive Director with effect from 23
January 2004.

Michael has considerable experience of investment trust management, having spent
23 years with Touche Remnant. For the past 10 years he has managed two
investment trusts for Henderson Global Investors until his retirement in the
summer of 2003.

As required under paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing
Authority, it is confirmed that Mr Moule is a director of The Bankers Investment
Trust PLC, appointed on 30 June 1982, of Old Mutual South Africa Trust PLC,
appointed on 14 June 1994 and of Lowland Investment Company PLC, appointed on 19
November 1997. No other directorships in publicly quoted companies have been
held in the past five years. There are no details to be revealed in connection
with paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
