Spain's competition authority CNC has imposed a combined fine of
EUR35.6 million on four electricity utilities for abusing their
dominant position in the electricity distribution market.
Iberdrola SA (IBE.MC), Endesa SA (ELE.MC), Union Fenosa SA
(UNF.MC), and Viesgo, a unit of Italian power firm Enel SpA
(ENEL.MI), have denied rival Centrica PLC (CNA.LN) access to
relevant information on electricity clients, the CNC said
Monday.
Spanish law states that databases on consumers of electricity
suppliers need to be accessible to companies selling the energy to
consumers.
