China Western Investments plc has been notified today that Pointex Enterprises 
Ltd ("Pointex") has removed the pledge of 23,760,000 shares as security for a 
loan of HK$2,000,000 to Pointex. Pointex holds 23,760,000 shares in China 
Western (equivalent to 3.3 per cent. of the issued share capital). Pointex is 
wholly owned by the family of John Ho, a director of the Company.
