    Chieftain Group plc announces that it was informed on 13 October 2008 that Malcolm Oliver has gifted 35,099 shares to his wife on 13
October 2008.  He remains beneficially interested in the shares and his beneficial interests remain unchanged at 35,099 shares representing
0.4% of the issued share capital.

    Mr Oliver has given an irrevocable commitment to accept the recommended cash offer from Redhall Group plc announced on 30 September 2008
in respect of his entire interest.  This commitment continues to apply to the shares transferred to Mrs Oliver.
