Cancellation of London listing

April 25, 2007 -- Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX)(TSX:ABX)(LSE:BGD) announced today that it intends to cancel
the listing of its common shares on the London Stock Exchange. UK domiciled investors generally trade Barrick
shares using the facilities of the New York Stock Exchange and, as a result, the costs associated with maintaining
the listing are not justified by the low trading volume on the London exchange. The expected date for cancellation
of the listing is expected to be May 23, 2007.

Barrick's common shares will remain listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange.
