                            The Big Food Group plc

The Big Food Group notes the statement by Baugur that it has purchased a 14.99%
holding in the Company as a strategic investment, and that Baugur has no current
intention of making a bid for the Company.

The Big Food Group welcomes Baugur as a supportive shareholder and looks forward
to developing a constructive relationship with them.


Bill Grimsey, Chief Executive of The Big Food Group, commented:
