                       AUIRON ANNOUNCES SENIOR APPOINTMENTS

AuIron  Energy  is pleased to announce the following senior appointments.  These
arise  from  the continuing growth and development of the Company's organisation
and systems as it meets its planned growth targets for the SASE pig iron project
and the Ballymoney power project.

1. Mr Joe Fontana as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary.

2.  Mr  Warwick Higgs, as Special Projects Director and will remain as a        
    director of AuIron Energy Ltd.

3.  Mr Ian Mutton as General Manager, Legal and Commercial.

4.  Mr  Graham Haddow as General Manager, Corporate Affairs and will head       
    AuIron's new Adelaide office when opened shortly.

Mr. Fontana joined the Company in May 2000, as Chief Financial Officer. He has
16 years professional experience including 11 years at ERA (North limited Group
since  acquired by Rio Tinto Group) as Senior Financial Accountant and Assistant
Company Secretary and 4 years at Oakbridge Limited as Financial Accountant.  He
holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a CPA of CPA Australia and an Associate of
the Chartered Secretaries of Australia.

Mr Higgs has been Company Secretary and an executive director since June 1994.
He holds a number of other directorships and is a Fellow of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants having 35 years' experience in that profession with an
audit and investigation  base and a Fellow of the  Institute  of  Arbitrators.
Attended as  expert witness, acted as referee for the court and is a former
member of the Commonwealth Government's "Takeover Panel".

Mr Mutton joined AuIron as Legal and Commercial Counsellor in July 1999. He is
an executive director of SASE Pty Limited. For many years he was CSR Limited's
senior legal counsel. He has 10 years experience in the anti trust advisory and
prosecution work for the Commonwealth of Australia and 18 years experience in
the private  sector including corporate structure, corporate restructuring,
commercial litigation and international Finance in both America and Australia.
He is admitted to practise law In the High Court of Australia and in the Supreme
Court of New South Wales.

Mr Graham Haddow has recently announced his retirement from South Australian
Government service after the past 11 years involvement most recently as Director
- Resource Development in the Departments of Mines & Energy and Industry &
Trade. He is one of the joint originators of the SASE project and in the
formative stages was joint Chairman of the Joint Venture. Mr Haddow graduated
from the University of Adelaide and worked with Mobil Oil in chemical
engineering and senior management roles. This was followed by extensive
executive experience in manufacturing industry.
