We have to inform you that the Company has received  a letter dated 8th
February, 2005 from HSBC Asset Management (Hongkong) Ltd., making a disclosure
under SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares  And Takeovers) Regulation 1997
and SEBI  (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations 1992, that  consequent to
the  acquisition of  27,00,000 Global Depository shares  (GDS) on 7.2.2005 the
shareholding of HSBC Global Investment Funds  Ltd., A/c. HSBC Global Investment
Funds (Mauritius) Ltd.,  has gone up to  6.27% of the paid-up share capital of
the Company.  The holdings comprise of 53,93,500 Equity  shares and 58,00,000
Global Depository shares .
