Allianz Dresdner Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc ("ADSCIT" or the
"Company")


Suspension of reclassified shares of the Company


ADSCIT announces that the reclassified shares of the Company have been suspended
from listing on the Official List of the UKLA and from trading on the London
Stock Exchange at 8.00 a.m. on 23 April 2004 in accordance with the scheme of
reconstruction ("Scheme") approved by shareholders of the Company at the
extraordinary general meeting held on 15 April 2004.


Implementation of the Scheme is conditional on the passing of the resolutions
proposed at the Company's forthcoming extraordinary general meeting to be held
at 10.00 a.m. on 23 April 2004 or at any adjournment thereof.
