                PRESS RELEASE NO. 24/2002 FROM BERGESEN D.Y. ASA


                      BEA-TRADING ANNOUNCEMENT OWN SHARES


The Bergesen d.y. Group has today bought a total of 10,350 of its own shares,
being 6,050 A-shares and 4,300 B-shares for NOK 164.73 and NOK 151.36 per share
respectively.

After this purchase The Bergesen d.y. Group owns totally 176,850 of its own
shares, being 114,550 A-shares and 62,300 B-shares.

The number of outstanding shares after this is 59,518,206.
