Vital Information Assets NEW YORK, May 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Secured Services Inc. (OTC:SSVC) (BULLETIN BOARD: SSVC) , a leader
in information security software and services, today announced
Michael Smith has been appointed to the position of chief
technology officer. Smith is a recognized expert in network
security and has successfully developed enterprise-wide secure
information security systems currently used by numerous federal
government agencies, systems integrators, hospital data centers,
banks, travel and many other types of companies. Smith is
responsible for all strategy, development and delivery of Secured
Services' products. He will oversee the research and development of
the company's "Identiprise Suite," a true enterprise-wide identity
and access management system. He will also oversee the information
security product systems deployed by Secured Services Advanced
Security Group, including such services as: intrusion detection and
vulnerability assessments, encryption, managed firewall,
information security audits and assessments, penetration testing
and wireless LAN infiltration, secure network designs,
implementation and integration deployments, forensic analysis, and
managed security offerings. "Smith brings considerable senior
technology expertise to Secured Services," said King Moore, company
president and chief executive officer. "His research and
development experience of network security solutions and identity
management is the key to the next-generation Identiprise security
solution. We welcome his strong technical background in developing
secure software solutions." Smith was a founder and director of
Insight First, a developer of customer behavior and web analytics
software, which was acquired in 2003 by 24/7 Real Media. Insight's
customers included Viacom's network of media sites, United Airlines
and several other corporations. He also served as the former
chairman and president of Loquesea Networks, which specialized in
advertising solutions and market research within a network of
youth-oriented portals featuring online music, dating, and
multiplayer gaming. Loquesea was backed by Merrill Lynch and JP
Morgan with operations in Latin America and Europe and more than
eight million subscribers. Mr. Smith currently serves on the boards
of several private companies. Smith started his career over
fourteen years ago at Credit Suisse where he managed trading
technologies and was responsible for the firm's global network
design. Smith's security background began when he was the CEO of
Point Break Communications, a security consultancy and developer of
remote-access management software for financial services firms,
which was acquired by Synetics. He then became managing partner of
USWeb/CKS (later MarchFirst) where he was responsible for managing
the company's Network Solutions division, the global practice
leader for e-commerce performance and was chief strategist for key
accounts such as American Airlines. "I'm excited to be a part of
the Secured Services management team. We have a unique opportunity
to provide a solution that addresses the real concerns of
enterprise customers today. We can very quickly integrate with all
of our customers' applications and immediately provide benefits
from increased manageability and highly valuable compliance
reporting." As the need for security products and services soars,
Secured Services is seeing increased demand for Identiprise. A new
installation of Identiprise Server is rolled out weekly on average,
and Identiprise is currently licensed for use with more than a
quarter of a million desktops. The Identiprise Suite is a tightly
integrated security platform that allows for secure single point of
access for internal and external users to an organization's various
client/server and web-facing applications in a manner that reduces
operational costs, improves the user experience and provides
flexibility to application access. Using Identiprise, Secured
Services helps its customers to achieve this objective while
maintaining the fastest and lowest cost deployment model due to the
non-intrusive nature of the technology. Identiprise is a
culmination of software technology and research acquired from Vasco
Data and originally known as the Vacman Enterprise, or SnareWorks.
It was initially developed in 1997 with more than $7.2 million
invested in its research and development. The U.S. Dept. of
Defense, NASA, John Hancock, and 3M are among its users. About
