PR Newswire (US)
WEST MELBOURNE, Fla., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RELM
Wireless Corporation (OTC:RELM) (BULLETIN BOARD: RELM) today
announced that after recently completing its testing, the Bureau of
Land Management (BLM) has recommended RELM's APCO Project 25
digital portable radio, the DPHX, for fire use. The DPHX has also
been fire-certified by the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC).
The DPHX has passed rigorous testing by both agencies for
durability under extreme fire conditions. The BLM fire
recommendation opens the door for its agencies to purchase RELM's
BK Radio-brand DPHX for fire applications. The DPHX is compliant
with the APCO Project 25 standard for digital public safety radio
equipment. RELM President and CEO Dave Storey stated, "Providing
rugged and reliable communications for critical fire and emergency
situations has been the hallmark of our BK Radio brand. For more
than 20 years, our products have distinguished themselves with
agencies such as the U.S. Forest Service, setting the standard with
firefighters nationwide. In addition to its rugged reliability, the
DPHX offers key functional advantages including lower power drain,
which lengthens the battery usage cycle, plus exceptional audio
clarity and ease of use. Combined with its affordability, we
believe these advantages yield the best value in APCO Project 25
products available today." About RELM For nearly six decades, RELM
