POAHY Porsche Automobile Holding SE (PK)

German truck maker MAN SE (MAN.XE) and its major shareholder Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) plan to cooperate on the making of a new range of light trucks, a spokesman for MAN said Wednesday, confirming a report in domestic newspaper Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung.

He added the company is considering a module building system.

The report said the talks about trucks between 3.5 metric tons and 7.5 tons are well advanced, but Volkswagen is keeping its options open.

Volkswagen holds nearly 30% of MAN and aims to merge MAN with its truck unit Scania AB (SCA-V.SK), to benefit from synergies.
