announced today that Leslie W. Joyce
has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer,
effective immediately. She will be confirmed as an executive
officer of the company at the next Novelis Board of Directors
meeting.

Leslie joined Novelis in September
2009, as Vice President, Global Talent Management and
established world-class processes for talent acquisition,
development and deployment. With this appointment, Leslie
will now lead the global Human Resources function to include the
regional and functional HR organizations, Compensation, Benefits,
HRIS and Global Security. She will be responsible for the
development of global programs and processes to support not only
leadership development, but also performance management,
recruitment and selection, succession planning and organizational
effectiveness.
With a doctorate in Industrial Psychology from North Carolina State University, Leslie brings more
than 25 years of expertise in human resources with Fortune 500
companies including The Home Depot where she was the vice president
and chief learning officer. In that role, she was responsible
for all aspects of delivering learning solutions which included the
design, development, deployment and evaluation of all technical,
professional and leadership development solutions. Prior to
joining The Home Depot, Leslie held positions of increasing
responsibility with GlaxoSmithKline, a leading global
pharmaceutical company.
Leslie is succeeding Eric
Drummond who has decided to leave Novelis to pursue another
opportunity. "In his time with Novelis, Eric has successfully
grown and transformed the Human Resources team into a critical part
of our business and a strategic partner to its leadership. Under
