SANTA ROSA, Calif.,
Sept. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Democrasoft, Inc. (NASDAQ
BB: DEMO) today announced that it has engaged Business Team, a unit
of BTI Group, the largest business brokerage firm in the
Western United States, to locate a
strategic partner for its flagship subsidiary, Collaborize
Classroom, Inc., one of the leading providers of educational
collaboration tools.
"We have taken Collaborize Classroom from a standing start to
more than 36,000 teacher sites and almost 2 million lessons
delivered worldwide, in less than two years," said Richard Lang, President and CEO of
Democrasoft. "We think that a partner with a deep bench and
more marketing muscle can do a lot, at this point in its
development, to take Collaborize Classroom to the next level and
make it the de facto standard for blended-learning worldwide. And,
with the proceeds from a transaction, we will be able to properly
exploit the natural evolution of our Collaborize platform, the
WeJITTM."
Built on the same basic platform as Collaborize Classroom,
Democrasoft is revolutionizing e-book and e-magazine publishing by
enabling publishers and authors to seamlessly build into their
works the ability to communicate directly with readers and to
permit readers to communicate among themselves, taking reading and
collaboration to a whole new level. Initial response has been
enthusiastic, and publishers are have a substantial incentive to
get on the WeJIT bandwagon to avoid being at a competitive
disadvantage.
In addition to WeJITs, Democrasoft will continue to offer its
Town Hall Online, Collaborize NPO and Collaborize Workplace
products, which provide easy-to-use cloud-based collaboration
capabilities to politicians and governments, non-profits and other
organizations.
"We are on the leading edge of the collaboration tidal wave,"
said Lang. "As the use of the Internet matures, people are
understanding that it is not there just to play games and read the
news—the Internet is a foundation for meaningful communication and
collaboration, which makes us all more efficient and
effective. Our products are literally designed to put the
power into WE"
