LONDON--U.K. crossborder payments technology company Earthport PLC (EPO.LN) has signed a contract with Banco do Brasil Americas S/A (BBAS3.BR) to support multicurrency prepaid cards used by students to take scholarship funds abroad.

"This new and innovative use of the Earthport service is an initial entry into the prepaid card market," Earthport said in a statement Wednesday without giving financial details of the arrangement.
