CALGARY, Oct. 19, 2011 /CNW/ - Canadian Energy Exploration Inc. ("Canadian Energy" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has appointed Samantha Petersen, CA, to the position of Chief Financial Officer of the Company. As previously announced by the Company (see press release dated September 15, 2011) Lawrence B. Buzan had assumed the interim role as Chief Financial Officer until a replacement was appointed. Ms. Petersen has been engaged by the Company since February 2011 as its consulting controller before her appointment as Chief Financial Officer.  Ms. Petersen articled at Ernst & Young while earning her designation as a Chartered Accountant , in January 2011 during which time she worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions, Restructuring and Audit practices division. In addition to her time spent with the Company, she has spent numerous hours volunteering as a part of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) Volunteer Tax Program. Ms. Petersen is also actively involved in the CA School of Business, one of two Western Canadian institutions training and educating future Chartered Accountants. Canadian Energy also announces effective October 18, 2011 that the Board of Directors has granted Ms. Peteresen incentive options to acquire up to 350,000 common shares of the Company for a period of five years where each stock option represents the right to purchase one (1) common share of the Corporation at an exercise price of $0.10 per share.  Ms. Petersen's appointment and the grant of options are both subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval. Canadian Energy is also pleased to announce that John C. McGilvary has been appointed the independent Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company. About Canadian Energy Exploration Inc.
