               Thomas Potts PLC ("Thomas Potts" or "the Company")

                   Result of EGM: cancellation of AIM listing


At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held earlier today the
ordinary resolution authorising the Board to cancel the listing of the Company's
shares on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange was
passed by shareholders.

The Board will now proceed to cancel the listing, with the effect that trading
in the Company's shares will cease at close of business on Friday 11 April 2002,
after which time there will be no regular market for the shares.

Shareholders who are in any doubt as to any action to take are recommended to
consult immediately their stockbroker, bank manager, solicitor, accountant or
other professional adviser authorised under the Financial Services and Markets
Act 2000.
