Sustainable Energy Technologies Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:STG), ("the Company" "STG" or
"Sustainable") announced today that it will base North American manufacturing of
its SUNERGY(TM) line of inverters in the Province of Ontario. First deliveries
are planned for Q1, 2010.

Highlights

- Ontario emerging as North American leader in solar PV - estimated 500 - 1,000
MW per year;

- SUNERGY products will meet Ontario "domestic content" requirements for solar
PV systems;

- Only outdoor rated product for Canada's extreme climate enables lower costs
ground mount solar PV systems and safer lower cost rooftop systems;

- Patented Canadian technologies first to enable intrinsically safe solar PV
systems, along with higher total system yields, and a lower cost of ownership;

- Targeting 120MW production capacity by end of 2010; expanding to 250 MW in
2011 to meet North American demand.

By year end, Sustainable Energy will begin manufacturing the second generation
version of its patented SUNERGY inverter for North American markets in the
Province of Ontario. Sustainable Energy's commitment to Ontario reflects the
Province's emerging leadership of the North American solar PV market resulting
from the recently enacted Feed-In Tariffs ("FIT") and the Province's commitment
to build a sustainable Canadian solar technology and manufacturing
infrastructure in the Province.

Sustainable Energy's inverters incorporate patented technologies that are
Canada's most significant contribution yet to expanding the use of solar power
around the world. For the first time, the superior performance, intrinsic
safety, and design flexibility of a "parallel" system architecture is available
at a competitive price and with the high conversion efficiencies that the solar
industry needs to bring down the cost of solar electricity.

"Ontario creates an entirely new dynamic for Sustainable Energy, enabling us to
fully demonstrate the unique advantages of an innovative Canadian technology for
the North American market" said Robert Bucher, President & CEO of Sustainable
Energy. "We estimate that the Province will see in excess of 500 MW installed in
2010 increasing to as much as 1,000 MW in 2011. Most of this will be in rooftop
systems, as major property owners come to fully appreciate the value of owing
solar power systems."

In rooftop applications, the extra low operating voltage of the SUNERGY platform
enables a system architecture that is inherently safe and that can be installed
and maintained by most building trades without the need for PV specialists,
significantly reducing the installed system cost and increasing investor yields.

In ground based applications, multiple SUNERGY inverters offer higher system
yield, less downtime and easier installation and maintenance, than larger
"central" inverters. For these reasons, multiple smaller inverters like SUNERGY
are increasingly displacing central inverters in European ground based
applications - where system performance rather than name plate capacity is the
driver.

The SUNERGY inverter has also been specifically designed with Canadian outdoor
installations in mind. It is the only inverter which will deliver full power all
day with ambient temperatures ranging from -40 degrees C to +50 degrees C.

Ontario Feed in Tariff

Ontario's "FIT" program reflects best practices from markets worldwide and
building on a global trend to focus solar applications to rooftop applications.
Rooftop systems hold the most promise for significant economical renewable
energy production and currently represent the vast majority of global solar PV
systems according to recent data from the Global Demand Surveys.

- Effective October 1, 2009, individuals and companies will be able to sell
solar electricity generated by them to the power grid under 20 year contracts at
fixed prices per kilowatt hour ("kWh"). The selling prices are $0.443/kWh for
ground based systems up to 10MW; $0.539/kWh for rooftop systems above 500kW;
$0.635/kWh for rooftop systems above 250kW and below above 500 kilowatts in
rated capacity ("kW"), $0.713/kWh for rooftop systems above 10kW and below 250kW
and $0.802/kWh for residential systems below 10kW.

- To encourage investment in green manufacturing in the Province, and to create
construction and installation jobs, Ontario will require that projects have a
minimum domestic content. By January 1, 2011 all components for solar PV systems
- including inverters - must be manufactured or sourced in Ontario, with the
exception of solar PV modules, where only final assembly or encapsulation of the
module is required to be in Ontario.

About Sustainable Energy: Sustainable Energy (www.sustainableenergy.com) is
changing the way the world installs solar power through PARALEX(TM) a unique
line of solar energy products and systems for commercial and public sector
markets. PARALEX(TM) is based on a patented low voltage high yield inverter,
with both crystalline and thin film PV modules, which enables a parallel
architecture to increase total system yields while also addressing emerging
safety concerns. PARALEX(TM) achieves higher energy yields and operates at
intrinsically safe voltages as well as enabling simpler more flexible design
that improves module coverage of any rooftop. The result is the lowest cost per
kilowatt hour for maximum return on invested capital.

Sustainable Energy's inverter technology is based on multiple patents covering
core concepts and control algorithms issued by the US and Canadian patent office
with additional patents pending.
