Cleanfield Engages Mecon as New Shaft Manufacturer

Cleanfield Alternative Energy Inc. ("Cleanfield") (TSX VENTURE:AIR) announces
that it has taken measures to address the potential manufacturing defect in a
structural component part of their V3.5 Vertical Axis Wind Turbine. As a safety
precaution, Cleanfield issued a press release and notified its customers on May
12, 2008 that the company would be replacing all affected components with new
ones.


Since May 12, 2008, Cleanfield has engaged a new shaft manufacturer, the
Canadian company Mecon Industries Limited ("Mecon"). The in house engineering
and manufacturing at Mecon is employed to produce parts, fixtures, tooling and
automation equipment for the marine, aerospace, and automotive industries. Mecon
is APEO authorized to provide professional engineering services. Together
Cleanfield and Mecon are using Mecon's Quality Assurance Program to test
products produced for Cleanfield to reduce the risk of products defects.


In addition to the Quality Assurance Program, Cleanfield chose Mecon because of
Mecon's manufacturing capabilities. The Mecon manufactured shafts will be
available within six weeks.
