Robert F. Mehmel Elected to Board of United Industrial Corporation HUNT VALLEY, Md., March 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Robert F. Mehmel, a senior corporate executive with significant management experience in defense, aerospace, and high-technology fields, has been elected to the board of directors of United Industrial Corporation , the company announced today. Mr. Mehmel is executive vice president, in business operations and strategy, for DRS Technologies, Inc., (NYSE:DRS) in Parsippany, N.J., a position he has held since joining the firm in January 2001. He replaces General P.X. Kelley (U.S. Marine Corps, ret.) who stepped down from the board because of increasing demands on his time as chairman of the American Battle Monuments Commission. "Bob Mehmel is an excellent addition to our board at this time," said United Industrial Chairman Warren G. Lichtenstein. "He brings to UIC more than 20 years of insightful corporate experience in strategic planning and business development." Frederick M.
