Tortoise Energy Capital Corp. Prices Offering of Common Shares

Tortoise Energy Capital Corp. (NYSE: TYY) today announced that the company has priced the sale of 1,226,995 newly issued shares of its common stock. The shares are being sold to an institutional investor at a price of $22.70 per share. The company estimates that its net proceeds from this offering, after expenses, will be approximately $27.5 million.

The company intends to use the net proceeds to repay short-term debt outstanding under its credit facility and to invest in energy infrastructure companies in accordance with its investment objective and policies or for working capital purposes.

Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated acted as the sole placement agent for this offering.
