The following Citigroup closed-end funds - Salomon Brothers Capital and Income Fund Inc., Salomon Brothers Emerging Markets Debt Fund Inc., Salomon Brothers Inflation Management Fund Inc., Salomon Brothers Municipal Partners Fund Inc., Salomon Brothers Municipal Partners Fund II Inc., Salomon Brothers Variable Rate Strategic Fund Inc. and Real Estate Income Fund Inc. - today issued the following statement: The Special Meeting for the Salomon Brothers Capital and Income Fund has been adjourned to November 22, 2005 and the Special Meetings for the other Funds have been adjourned to November 29, 2005 to allow each Fund to continue to solicit votes to reach the necessary quorum to conduct business at the Special Meetings or to provide shareholders an opportunity to consider further issues being presented at the Special Meetings. The November 22 meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. and the November 29 meetings will be held at 3:00 p.m., all at 399 Park Avenue, 12th Floor Auditorium, New York, New York 10022. The record date for the Special Meetings remains August 22, 2005.
