BOHEMIA, N.Y., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NBTY, Inc.
(NYSE:NTY) (http://www.nbty.com/), a leading global manufacturer
and marketer of nutritional supplements, today announced the
following preliminary unaudited net sales results for the fiscal
fourth quarter and fiscal year ended September 30, 2006 by segment

$1,737 8% The above preliminary unaudited net sales results for the
fiscal fourth quarter and fiscal year 2006 included net sales from
Solgar, acquired in August 2005, of $26 million and $100 million,
respectively. For 2005 Solgar reported net sales of $17 million.
European retail net sales in local currency increased 1% for the
fiscal fourth quarter and increased 3% for the fiscal year 2006.
NBTY expects to report audited results for fiscal year 2006 in
