(NYSE:CVI), an independent refiner and, through CVR Partners, LP, a nitrogen fertilizer producer, announced today that CVR Energy had filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with the proposed offering of 10 million shares of the company's common stock by certain stockholders of the company. The selling stockholders may sell up to an additional 1.5 million shares upon exercise of an option that the selling stockholders expect to grant to the underwriters in connection with the offering.
