Steel (NYSE: AKS) today celebrated its fifteenth anniversary of
trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). In a ceremony
honoring the occasion, James L.
Wainscott, chairman, president and CEO of AK Steel rang the
NYSE's opening bell, signifying the start of the trading day.
Also participating in the ceremony were the other executive
officers of AK Steel.

Ringing the opening bell is an honor accorded to senior
executives of NYSE-listed companies, among others. According
to the NYSE, the opening and closing bell-ringings are among the
most widely-viewed daily news events in the world.
